How to get to Madarao Ski Resort from Tokyo? It is a ski resort you must visit in Japan, a great mix of Green/Blue and Black runs. It is located at a small and quiet village, 30 mins shuttle bus from Liyama Station. It's one of the few ski resorts in Japan that has 15 tree runs. Many runs here are ungroomed so it really improves your skiing. Madarao is a family friendly ski resort, it has not only easier tree runs, such as the Sawa natural course and the Ninja course, but also Free Ride Park, Kid’s Parks for family, and offers a range of winter activities. Ski/Snowboard lessons are available in English. Not too many foreigners here and mostly local skiers. Cash is widely used, please note, there are no ATMs in the resort as of 2019, but there is one at 7/11 convenience store near Liyama train station.
