For purchasing goods in this city, you will have to have Singapore dollars on you, but credit cards such as Diners Club, Master Card, American Express etc. are widely accepted in restaurants, supermarkets and shopping malls, but keep in mind that your minimal purchase should be over 20 Singapore dollars. It's also better to pay for taxi with Singapore dollars because if you use a credit card it will add a 10% administration fee on your ride fare.
